About Cátia

Cátia's journey into the ancient healing art of Thai Yoga Massage began in 2010 when she encountered this transformative practice in Thailand through the renowned Sunshine Network. After three years of intensive training, supplemented by advanced courses in Thailand, India, Germany, and Greece, she became a certified Thai Massage practitioner in 2013.

Her early career in Occupational Therapy, which she completed in 2005, ignited her deep interest in holistic healing. While working with individuals experiencing neurological disorders, she recognized a gap in conventional treatments, which often overlooked the body-mind connection. This realization led her to explore practices that integrated physical, emotional, and energetic dimensions, guiding her to Thai Yoga Massage.

Training & Expertise

Cátia’s expertise is rooted in years of study and practice. Alongside her foundational degree in Occupational Therapy, her training includes:

  • Thai Yoga Massage: Certified practitioner since 2013, trained with the Sunshine Network and through advanced courses in multiple countries.

  • Specialised Therapies: Studies in Osteopathy, Craniosacral Therapy, Biomagnetism, and Bioenergetic work.

  • Complementary Practices: Experience in Tok Sen Therapy, Moxibustion, Hot Herbal Compress Massage, and Hatha and Yin Yoga rooted in Daoist principles.

Her diverse training empowers her to approach healing from a comprehensive osteopathic perspective, offering treatments that enhance the natural flow of energy and support the body’s innate healing abilities.

Approach

Cátia’s treatments are dynamic and deeply personalised, blending traditional and modern healing techniques to restore balance and foster well-being. Her approach combines:

  • Floor-Based Techniques: Utilising long and short lever movements, body mechanics, and weight distribution to support physical healing.

  • Energetic Alignment: Drawing on bioenergetic principles to enhance the body’s natural energy flow.

  • Integrative Methods: Incorporating Osteopathy, Craniosacral Therapy, and other modalities to treat the body holistically.

Known for her loving presence and intuitive touch, Cátia creates a safe, nurturing space for healing. Her integrated approach helps restore equilibrium across physical, emotional, and energetic dimensions, nurturing a profound sense of well-being.

Philosophy

Cátia believes in addressing the whole person—body, mind, and spirit. Traditional therapies often focus on the physical, but her approach acknowledges the interconnectedness of all dimensions. This philosophy stems from her early experiences in Occupational Therapy, where she saw the need for treatments that align physical health with emotional and energetic well-being.

Through Thai Yoga Massage, she discovered a practice that embodies this integration. For Cátia, it is not merely a technique but a “spiritual dance of surrender” that enriches both the practitioner and the receiver. Her work emphasizes balance, harmony, and trust in the body’s natural capacity to heal.
